The Cobb County Fire Department has announced that a funeral for Firefighter Stacey Leigh Boulware, who died in the line of duty Monday, will be held on Saturday afternoon.
A visitation for Boulware will be held Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church on Due West Road in Powder Springs. Chaplain Michael Bell will be officiating.
A memorial service will follow at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Stacey’s memory be made out to the Cobb Fire Employees’ Benevolent Fund, 1595 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008.
Boulware, of Austell, collapsed at a fire station in Vinings on Monday afternoon after an apparent heart attack. The veteran firefighter had responded to back-to-back incidents, including a vehicle wreck and a medical emergency, after passing the department’s annual physical agility test earlier in the day. She was 44.
Cobb Fire Chief Randy Crider said Tuesday that Boulware’s death devastated the crew she worked with.
“It’s like we’ve lost a family member,” Crider said.
