Phil Weinrobe wants you to call him Phil. He's a lover of the skewed country song, and wants to share with you a few of his own. "Whatever Happened to Your Loving Heart" is Phil's first album of solo material. Recorded on a single laptop in several American states over the period of a year -- the album features the collaboration of several dear and dearly talented friends. Co-produced by Ryan Vanderhoof, of Akron/Family, the album features performances by Vanderhoof and fellow Akron/Family members Seth Olinsky and Dana Janssen throughout.
Phil sings about the ups and downs of departing friends, death, and love affairs with high-end whiskey in a "wonderfully warm, frayed and tattered voice" that is, according to Neumu.net, "crinkled like old jeans, worn soft in spots with disappointment and weariness, but instantly comfortable and familiar."
Phil is now settled in Brooklyn, NY where you can find him eating, talking, breathing, sleeping, and playing music... but not always in that order. He is honing an ever-expanding family of songs with his new band, Butane Variations.
